Quick two hour hunt at an old school Sunday. My hunting buddy had found an 1869 seated quarter there recently along with some mercs and a few military buttons.
Did well for two hrs: two different size 19th cent eagle infantry buttons
two flat buttons
1860 fattie Ih
1901 Ih
1917 merc
Chinese cash coin
1941 wheatie
clay marble

I detected a fairly modern school not so long ago. In the playground was a set of monkey bars. The area under them was about 12 foot long and 2 feet wide. I found $26.90 there, and a further $33.42 in the rest of the playground. I have been looking under monkey bars ever since, with some success. Quite a few school yards have yielded $50 or more so, in Oz anyway, they are worth exploring. Getting permission is the problem, some will grant it, some won't, but have a go.

Still haven't found one of them Fatty Injuns yet but maybe one day I will. Sounds like a very old site indeed to get that old of stuff from there. Hope the finds keep surfacing for you fella's and Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt.
