got the new 505 pro fri afternoon, took it to the sleding hill this afternoon along with the new tracker 4. tracker 4 is still awesome. 505 however was a big dissapointment. cant seem to get it to set in any mode, does fine for a few targets, than falses at the end of the swings , both left and right ends. gives a good acurate target and then when i pick it back up to check the hole it repeats the orginal signal when i pick it up with the coil pointed in the air. if i hit a good tone on one pass it will change its mind a read muliple tones on repeat passes while trying to x. on a given target it might say $1.00 at 6' and .25 cents and a pull tab on the same target on three subsequent passes. it seems to false a lot just brushing through grass but the tracker4 plowes through the bruch like a bulldozer and never makes a whimper. i changed to the 4' coil to see if that made a difference and it didnt. plyed with al the adjustment to if sensitivity was to high or low or whatever and the disc knob. nothong seemed to make any differnce. seemed like it was stuck in all metal, could not disc out trash at all. I think there must a short in the box. does that sound right? and if I cant return it to the ebay seller and get my money back does anybody know what kellyco would charge to fix it? the tracker 4 is still the bomb! frustrated in colo. ed

I have one also, it is a lot different from the tracker IV. When you first turn it on it is in all metal mode. When you first turn it on let it beep and stuff, then push the "disc" button, have the sens dial "power dial" to about 2 or 3 o'clock, or where it turns from white to blue, then after that turn your disc knob to about the 12 o'clock position. you can also push the auto notch button after you push the disc button, and see how that helps out. If it still does all the crazy stuff you said it did then maybe you do have a bad machine. kellyco does not fix machines, you would have to send it back to first texas, i dont know if the ebay seller would let you send it back to him or not. but go to this website and email them to see if they will fix it and how much, http://www.detecting.com

one more thing make sure that you have good batteries in it. or it will freak out and do all sorts of crazy stuff.
