Short Hunt yields 1899 Barber Quarter

I returned to the place where I found the old Navy button (not the store) for about an hour Sunday morning. The mosquitoes were unbearable, so I had to give up rather than risk a case of West Nile Encephalitis. It is probably my last woodland hunt until November, when the tics, the mosquitoes, and the poison ivy all die down.

The coin was about 7 inches deep and was bouncing between penny and dime on my ACE, even when it was in the dirt pile. It still has some good detail, although I may have stabbed it. CURSES!! My old White's Bullseye pinpointer died and my new Vibra Probe 560 should arrive in a few days.

Enjoy the pics!
