short hunt with vaquero

I haven't used the Vaq much becuase i've been water hunting. But went on a 40 min hunt after work also took a digger I made on it's maiden voyage.
I found 37 cents in clad, 1920 &1935 wheat and an 1887 indianhead. The digger works great.

3-5" depth i wish i had more time to use the vaq, to learn how to find the deep silver and gold jewely this is a sports field i detected
most of last year with an ace 250 only found silver rings, beat up wheats and clad.

But iI'm hooked on the beach and the vaq acts up there.

Nicely constructed digging tool and nice finds. I to have a Vaquero that does not like the wet salt beaches or marshes just goes crazy and I am unable to stabilize but is fine in the dry sand. Wondering what your salt water & beach detector is as I am surrounded with salt water beaches and marshes that Vaquero can not handle?
Waiting for hurricane Earl here in Nova Scotia :canadaflag:

nice finds and a very nice digging tool. I really like that digger.....any idea what they would cost if you sold them?

Joe Dirt & Jim,

It would not be profitable to manufacture it would probably cost several hundred depending on the steel.I have at least 40 -50 Hrs on this digger .I think it will put other name brand
diggers to shame. This type digger would be for someone who only wants the best. But for my fellow detectorist, I don't Know .I am curious as to what you guys (Forum) think would de a fair price
I am making a few more and figured I could use them to trade but they take so damn long.I still haven't put the hangle grip on the first one. Maybe by December i'll have another one made.

Here are the specks

It's still not completely finished but it's usable as is. Made out of M-2(high speed steel) 60-62 Rockwell .170" x 1 1/2 x 6 3/4.
One side will have a straight edge and the other side is thicker with staggered teeth to cut through bigger roots. It also has
a magnet for that hard to find small iron and it wooks great as you can see in the picture.

Her are some pics of the original and the projects.
