Short hunt with the Excel...

On the way home I noticed the city workers had torn out a section of old sidewalk so I just had to stop. LOL

Tried the 1270 and the ML Advantage but the overhead powerlines were playing heck with them. The 1270 would run "OK" with the Sens below 3 but the Advantage just would not shut up no matter what. After using the 1270 I grabbed the ID Excel to see what it would do. The powerlines did have some effect but it was hardly noticeable with the sens at 6 so I ran thru the same area that I hit with the 1270 and picked up a 1889 V nickel. Another first for the Excel!

I have not hunted my Excel around Power lines yet. I was wondering how it would do. I may have to hit a couple of the old spots just to make sure the C$ got it all. ;)

Tony,

As long as the coil was close to the ground and in motion there was no noise or chatter from interference. The "V" locked right on at 9 and never wavered. I was impressed. This is a tough spot to hunt. I may try the C$ there this AM if they have not put in the metal forms for the new sidewalk yet. They used to use wood forms which was nice. Now they got them dang metal ones. LOL
