Short hunt today....

After helping my brother with some car repairs today, I was able to slip out for short two hour hunt this evening before the bad weather comes in the next couple of days.
I went back to the school where I found the "Ike" dollar at a couple days ago, and decided to try a little corner that perhaps had been overlooked by others.
My decision paid off shortly afterwards with silver quarter followed by the mercury dime about 6" away.
Not long after, I found a couple wheats and the war nickel,
After searching this area, I just tried some other areas and on the way back to the truck, I got a nice soft, but iffy signal and found the rosey.. last target of the day.
I was very happy with my results and look forward to squeezing another hunt or two before the year ends.

I'd be dancing on the roof with finds like that, even an all day hunt.
Thinking outside the box can really pay great rewards when it comes to metal detecting.

Exactly…. I like to be in the lookout for areas that do not look like there is much potential to find old coins and it often pays off…. Works with modern coins too!
