Short hunt this morning

Got out this morning for 1 1/2 hours before the heat hit. I got a sef 10x12 coil last week and have been playing with it, I'm liking it as well as the sef 6x8 coil, smooth running a ID's good. I got a few dimes and pennies buried in the yard here at home, one of the dimes is 7" deep with a nail 1" away from it in the hole, anything that hits that is a good one. The stock etrac coil does hit it, but it's a iffy signal, I found the best way to hit the dime with the 10x12 coil is in the high trash program and runnig auto sensivity at -3, the the etrac hits it good. Went down to the local fairgrounds/park this morning running the high trash program and -3 auto. Most of the time auto sensivity was running at between 19 and 21, just a couple of numbers above the graft on the right that is the recommended sensitivity. The barber dime was at 6" in a spot that with my mxt I'd pulled 6 bullets out of the ground that looked like they's been dropped all about 5" deep, why the mxt did'nt pick up the dime at the time I don't know, there was a iron signal about 3" to the side of the dime, guess it kept the dime masked. The nickle is a 1942 silver nickle, I got a CO signal of 45, thinking another silver dime, as it was depth was 6 or 7" deep. I dug down and didn't find anything, and the pinpointer on the detector wouldn't sound off, rechecking the signal said it was still in the hole, so I though, a coin on edge, must be on the side of the hole, so I widened it...by the way the gound is bone dry, and hard as a rock, I was really wish'n for dynomite, lol. As I was digging out the side of the hole a cruddy nickle fell out of the side of the hole, I stuck it in my pouch, but still no dime, rechecked the hole, the detector still said it was in the hole, I finally gave up and put the dirt back in thinking a deep pop or beer can. Got home and washed the crude off the nickle and see that it's silver, so now this evening after it cools off I gotta go back and see what the signal was,,,,,might take a shovel, as the ground is so hard to dig with a trowel.
