Short hunt this afternoon....

I took my Vaquero for a spin around the old home site after work and got a few more saves.. no bullets this time, but did score a nice IH cent dated 1883.
I couldn't believe the condition of this coins since it has been underwater for well over a hundred years!!
Surprisingly, it wasn't very deep either.
I also got a nice suspender clip, another thimble, a cartridge, an old ring, and a stirrup that is soaking in some water waiting for electrolosys.
Also found a pile of shotgun shell bases.. man do they sound good LOL!!!
Thanks for looking,
Felix

Nice! I had a M6 that would hit on those shotgun shells like crazy too. Pile of them around here. I am getting a Vaquero soon. I guess there is no way to disc those old shells out with the Vaquero either! Nice finds!!

I probably could disc. the shotgun shells out, but I'm afraid I may miss something else in doing so.
After awhile, you can pretty much tell that it is a shotgun shell.
The IH cent sure gave a much different sound than the shotgun shells did.
More rounded sound and not as brassy like the shotgun shells.

Nice finds! That sure is a clean Indian Head.

Haven't found my first Indian yet. Thimble either.
That looks like it might be a $10 penny!
That's in darn good shape! Maybe the water it was in, was from the fountain of youth?
