Short Hunt Silver Spill First SLQ

banditicey

New member
We went out tonight for a few hours to our favorite Park

The other Day we happened on the new area and found lot's of Wheat's and decided to return the next day

Early in the Hunt I received a high tone with 12-46 and intermittent and Chirping

I dug at least 8 inches and ultimately closer to 11 inches

The 1926 SLQ came out first and there was more signals and then the 1964 Washington

The hardest to locate was the 1942 D Wheat

I have been wanting to find a SLQ since I started detecting and Here It Is!

Onee Of The Most Beautiful Coins ever minted!

I could only see the last two numbers with a loop ( Darn about the aging eyes )

And before I pronounced the age of the coin I made sure it made sense

Thankfull I did not need to see the "19--"

Live and Learn

Regards and Bless

Congrats on the SLQ. Did you say that all 3 coins came out of the same hole?

YES

But within three inches of the same Hole

And I was surprised that after the 1926 SLQ I found the 1964 Washington and then the 1942 D Wheat

I would have expected that the other two coins would be around the age of the SLQ

In fact I excitedly called out anothe SLQ befor I realized it was a Silver Washington

Strange

Way to go Eva! Congratulations on your first SLQ! Thanks for the pictures.

That's why I asked, because you would think pocket spill coins would all be around the same date. Maybe each coin was lost separately and they just ended up in close proximity to each other. What would be the odds of someone dropping/losing a coin in the same spot in or around 1926, 1942, and 1964?

Sweet finds too!!!!

congrats! sorry you didn't find any silver earlier in the day....but you killed it later on!!!!! took me about 75 plugs to get my silver, you got it in 1 !!!!!!!!

If Brian was not right there and ended up digging up the Wheat I would wonder also

But without getting mushy I am aware of several MDer's (not on the Forum) who are not always Honest and I Detest that Behaviour and would not consider it

Eva - That never entered my mind. I'm sorry if I made you think that I was guessing your honesty. What I was trying to do, is to point out what amazing things can happen in our hobby and did not do a very good job of it.
