I did my daily routine of checking the wave action out on the big lake and decided it was to rough to bother with today. Well that decision lasted all of about an hour. I got extremely board and decided to take a drive down to the beach for a closer look. Upon arriving I see 2 other water hunters inbound. OK, thats it....I'm going in, but don't have much time. The water was rough, could not work any deeper then waist deep...even at that depth waves were occasionally crashing over my head. I dug a charm, 2 earrings and a dime and my time was up. On my wade back to shore I decided to quickly check a deeper spot near the shoreline. That resorted in nothing and I waded back toward my beach towel. I was only about 3 feet from shore and in only about a foot of water and I get a jumpy 52-54 on the trusty AT-Pro. In my mind I'm saying pull tab, the wave action must have kicked another one up. But I never, ever pass over those numbers. Two scoops later and there's a very nice 14K white gold ring gleeming out of the bottom of my scoop.
And to think I was not going to even go today. Total hunt time about an hour and 15 minutes.
