Short Hunt Gets The Quota

Took a spin to dirt church this morning. The kids have been wheedling about how cold it is lately - bunch of cry babies. I told them they need to move to Minnesota for awhile. That'll put some steel in 'em. Matter of fact, I have family there with farms; they might could use the help. They fell strangely quiet after I said that.

Me, I think it is nice. A cool 40 degrees, and sunshining. The trees are turning and it is fall again!

So I went to one of my favorite spots, to start:

This is a rock climbing wall that the city put up. I like it because it's quiet and secluded. Some of you may recall the time I found the full six pack of beer. This is that same place. Naturally, I have a certain affection for the spot after that....

Truth is, I am a loner at heart. I enjoy the alone time that detecting brings. To me, that's one of the best things about the hobby. Dont get me wrong, I like people, too. But detecting gives me a constructive outlet that for "out and away" time. There was another guy there, the first I've ever seen in the off season. He was doing a crossword and drinking coffee. We exchanged a few pleasantries and I went to work. He must like alone time, too, as he got up shortly thereafter and quietly left.

Didn' find much today, don't really care. It was a beautiful, peacful morning.

Here are the usual suspects:

Found that nasty looking utility razor blade and large roofng nail right in the middle of a playground. Glad I got it before some little kid got jabbed.
Too bad about that multi tool, too. Wish I'da found it before it rotted away.

Here're are the gleanings:

'sOmebody total that up - I never got around to it

Not bad. Better than sitting home. I'm with you on the loner part. Company is fine, but being one with the detector and no distractions is very relaxing for me.
