In 64' I was assigned to the stockade as a guard. I had to qualify with a 12 gauge shotgun and the shells were solid brass 00 buck shot.

That was US Army. I asked about the solid brass and was told they make alot of noise when you chamber a round.

Nice haul. Try those lined gloves the ladies use to wash the dishes.

I'm sure where I hunt is colder than where you hunt but I use the Polar Paw Guantlets they are insulated and go up to your shoulders and I used them in 30 degree water last winter.

when the weather and/or water gets colder. The glove part is insulated, and the sleeve goes up to my shoulders, and the two sleeves are connected by a strap that goes over the back of my neck.

I really like cold weather gloves to allow good dexterity and I have a pair of Ironclad gloves for general handyman work and love the way they fit. Gonna give a pair of these a try - if they don't do what I want, at least they'll be good for shoveling snow this winter.

Did you see the posting from MaineDigger. That is it. I am learning my machine. By the way, did you get a silver dime that night. Way to go. I am doing the afternoon low tide Sunday at Salisbury beach down the other end

Sounds like everyone is finding things left and right - left and right of us at least :).

One of the dimes turned out to be a 1963, so it was silver, but nothing too exciting.

Hope I make more gambling at Mohegan Sun this weekend than I have been metal detecting lately!! Maybe I'll make enough at the craps table to buy me a backup detector!

Good luck Sunday - I'd stop at several locations along the shoreline like we did Saturday night and give them all a look-see at least - you might find a nice spot.

Try one or more of those lakes too.

I just glanced at it, and unless I misread it, the low tides are in the morning and evening Sunday.

I went with a thinner O'Neil FSW Psycho Glove 1.5 MM
Its 100% sealed and 100% ultra flex
Remember its mostly about the wind chill factor - as the water temp is comfortable...
These will works great - because I also wear the "Pro-tec" Wrist guards
The bottom of this lake is murder on the wrists and ankles. (clay and rocks )

Anytime I wear a lined or cloth inner linning, or a glove that holds water-
It turns my Fingers into prunes - as I spend sometimes 8 hours in the water

Thanks again for the Input -

I gotta get to fresh water. The surf is a little lame now. You have had a great run though. Gotta be more out there. Hammer it!

OBTW, I wear diving gauntlet gloves in the winter. Fit nicely over my wetsuit top and keep my hands nice & warm. Thinking of getting a pair of those long trappers gloves, but they are mostly available in camo. Gotta have pirate black of course. It's important to make a fashion statement, while yer pirating, don't you agree chile?
