short Compadre hunt turns up a nice surprise

Wife got up early and went to the yard sales; I slept in and had trouble dragging myself out of bed. Finally got up, took the snow blower off the tractor and put the mower on. Didn't feel like doing anything today and felt guilty for feeling that way. Finally couldn't just sit around anymore so I grabbed the Compadre and walked the 200 feet to the community play ground to see if there were any new drops. Hunted for about 45 minutes total. Got a 1974 nickle and the usual pieces of lead blobs I seem to find here and some other little metal pieces.

After about 15 minutes in, got a nice hit. Thumbed the discriminator to see where it went away and said out loud "zinc penny". Dug it; at about 4 inches deep out comes an 1859 Indian in not too bad shape. Surprised me! Community only dates back to early 1950's.
Cheers,
tvr
