Shooting for coin count

Was in kind of a lame mood today and not really ready to work real hard. Beside that it was 97 in the desert today.

Went to a local park that's been hunted hundreds of time by anybody and everybody. I wanted to see how many coins I could dig in 1 hour in this hunted out park.

Started out by the shady area of the trees, cause it's really hot. Started hitting penny's like a crazy person. Then I hit a few nickels. Then a couple of
Quarters. Not bad for a hunted out park. At the end of an hour, I had 62 coins. Granted, the majority of then were penny's, I was in shock 62 coins in an hour?
That's a lot even in an area that has not been hunted. Moral of the story?

NO PARK IS EVER COMPLETELY HUNTED OUT. ---------------- NO ONE IS GOING TO GET IT ALL

A friend of mine told me he got 80 coins in the three parks here in town. I'm going to see how many he missed.

Happy Hunting---------------- Good Luck-------------------Thanks for looking

I like scarfing clad...I think an excersize like what you did today to see how many how fast is a good one...it helps a fellow get very aggressive when approaching a location for jewelry or shallow coins, and it is possible to really rack up a count if a guy can get speedy on the retrieval, which you obviously are...then, a fellow just plays the odds, can a guy get 200 coins in a few hours? can a guy identify 300 targets in an outing? if so, the odds go way up for gold jewelry.:clapping:

When you are digging every good repeatable signal you get really tuned in to what is what. Like today I got a 63 signal, it was a screw cap. I logged that into my memory bank. Then I get a 67, dug it and it was a quarter and a penny. Go figure. The nice thing about the AT Pro is it is tremendously consistent with the tones and VDI. You know exactly which sounds are a Penny, nickel, dime or quarter. Vdi's are the same way.

I never use a lesche digger doing this, I use my two prong probe. The two prongs pop coins out real quick. Good recovery time is essential.

I'm going back tomorrow and hit the areas I didn't get today. Kind of neat, because in the process I hit a bunch of nickels today. Usually i do not get many nickels.
I'm also digging all of the pull tabs and bottle caps and getting rid of them.

I will post again tomorrow.

If I`m in an area where I`m finding lots of coins, I like to use the tip of my pro pointer to scan the surrounding surface area around the hole after I dig a coin. You can often find an additional 2-3 coins shallow enough for the pointer to pick up, and then just pop them out of the ground right quick while your down there before you get back up to check the area again with your coil. HH

You all keep hitting those parks they you are and it will just a matter of time before we see some gold jewelry coming in. Happy hunting
