does whites make a 3x6 shooter coil ansd a 3x5 shooter coil or are there just one small shooter coil? im getting confused and if it came down to a 3x5 shooter dd and a 5 inch exterminator which would be the better choice.

Pulltab, the Eclipse "Shooter" coil measures 6.75" long by 3.5" wide. It is often referred to as a "6x4." It has proven extremely popular. Personally, I'd prefer a genuine White's Electronics factory-produced small coil over any "aftermarket" one imported from overseas. Hope this helps; HH Jim

The 4X6 is a awsome coil in trash and being it was developed by White I feel it will do better over all, I know it is built better as we see on the fourms as I havent seen anyone get a bad one, but the other coil I see them being replaced quite often. I got one of the 5 inch for my Explorer to try when they were $95, but got charged $129 on my credit card with the shipping and used it once and sold it again as I didnt like it for depth or target seperation like the Sunray 5 inch coil.
That little 4X6 has the depth that you have to see to beleive as i wouldnt have beleived it unless I seen it with my own eyes. The only small coil I have seen that will do better in depth is the 5 inch for the Shadow X5 as it is slightly deeper.

Taking the #####ed coil cover off to clean after time at the beach. That ##### cover fits so tight that is impossible to take off without prying it with something. The edges of my cover are beginning to look a bit distressed around the edges, not from field use, but from taking it off to clean the coil. <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":(">

Just clean it well and put a bead of silicone based caulk along the edge ( not the tacky stuff- just caulk). I have it on my 10x6 too- works great.

Pulltab,
I had the 4x6 and will not down it. It was a decent little coil. I ended u getting rid of it as I didn't care for the small foot print, then I started hitting some old site that were super trashy and wished I still had that small coil, well I had purchased a 14 inch excellerator from kellyco and it is a super coil. So I decided to try the 5 inch excellerator which measures 4 3/4 inches across the center. It is a DD coil and is super in trash and I have dug many coins at a measured 6 inches. As far as the 5 inch coil for minelabs I don't know about them, minelab and white are 2 totally different machines. These are after market coils , I guess but the one I have out perform the stock coil and I think the 5 inch coil does a better job than the 4x6 did. Any ways thats my 2 cents worth. To each his own but them after market coils kick butt.
