hit a field Sunday nite and put the coil over a 28 gun, brought it to the police and they are checking it to see if it was in a crime or if some one lost it, they asked if it cleared if I wanted it back, I told them to keep it

What state do you live in? I know not NY. Very oddball find you have there. Id say intentionally buried cause you would usually know if you dropped something like that. That was the right thing to do bringing it to the police though.

I would have cleaned that one up after it checked out. That is a Diamondback Firearms handgun. Worth at least $300-400..
