Shipping CTX back to Minelab Question

I'm shipping the ctx back tomorrow for coil repair and they want me to ship the whole unit back. I forgot to ask if i should ship it back taken apart or fully assembled, has anyone shipped theirs back and if so how?

I want to ship first thing in the morning, Minelab is Central time so by the time I realized this question and called back they were already closed :(

thanks ya'll :)

I was going to say to break it down, but I'm not so sure now that I think about it. If you have a good sturdy box with lots of packing, the CTX folds up nicely. You might ask Minelab what they suggest.

Yeah, I was hoping to ship first thing in the morning but maybe I'll wait to call them, thanks for the tip. I wanted to know if anyone had shipped theirs to Minelab and how they packed it.

I had to send mine in twice now, I fully disasemble and put it in its original box, I strongly recomend taking the unit apart for shipping, that way there is no strain on the unit when shipping

thank you very much Gus, I will take your advice. :) May I ask why you sent yours back twice?

You may have already shipped but I would break the machine down. I just sent my Excal off for repairs after 10 years of hard use. Minelab service was right on top of things with a quick call back and assement of my problem and estimate for repairs. Can't wait to get my machine back.

Actually, I had broken the machine down. I also did not want to use the original box to ship because I didn't like to advertize my ctx...you never know who might see that tempting pic of the gorgeous ctx right on the box. Luckily the ctx box can be taken apart and put back together inside out so everything went back in nicely. I've heard only good things about Minelab so I am looking forward to hearing from them soon.

I sent mine in for a faulty pinpoint trigger, wasnt fixed the first time so they gave it priority the second time and replaced the whole upper end,

Ah yes, I think I remember your post a while back. Glad they took care of you :)
