Shipping costs have really increased at the US Post Office again..

Check their prices before you use them... UPS is a lot less now, and about the same delivery time for most areas..
Though some areas do take a day or two extra for delivery...

I wanted to ship a box with detector weight of 9 lbs. USPS wanted 27.00 plus insurance to send. I wanted 325.00 worth of insurance so the total came to over 48.00. I went to fed ex and shipped the same package with 400.00 worth of insurance for 22.00 and some change. Less than half the price.

I agree that USPS has began to over price their large item shipping . It seems they'd like to push the limits of our pocket books , and that might be their agenda . I really think that it's their plan to do this and only push their Priority Mail boxes and envelopes and stamped letter mail . And I noticed almost every package recently shipped to me passed hands from USPS to either UPS or even FedX for the final leg of it's way to me . So we have to pay for the subcontracts they have with them . I feel they have forgotten people who choose to reside out of major metropolitan areas where it's easier to find USP and FedX locations . Almost every small town has a Post Office but UPS and FedX offices either don't exist or have such limited office locations and times they are open we are forced to use USPS and their over priced shipping , what say you ?

Well Chuck , when you read the second post you'd notice that Texan said USPS cost over $48 at USPS with less insurance than UPS at a total of $22 and some change with $400 insurance and that's more than $25 saved ... So UPS is more than 50% less ... I haven't checked FedX but THERE'S the comparison ... e'nuff said ... Woodstock
