Shield Nickel

A detector collegue of mine here in Norway found a coin that was identified as a shield nickel 1882/3 (double print). Is this coin considered as rare as I`ve never seen any of you guys here have displayed it?

It is a rare coin but not as rare as some others. This site expains the 1883/2 shield nickel.

I see a value of approximately $225 (US) for that coin in a condition of "good". In my opinion a buried coin would not be worth that much. Yes it is rare. Shield nickels are not found very often. It is a very nice find!

I found one from 1869 last weekend. It might not be worth a lot but I think they look cool.
