After messing around with the emulator last night, I noticed you could trace where all the US coins hit and they seemed to follow a fairly straight line across the screen from left to right. I decided to mask everywhere but where the coin trace pattern hit to see if I could weed out a coin or two from a sight I've just about giving up on. It's a vacant lot where a house once stood and is littered with iron debris everywhere. I went out this morning with my coins only program to check it out. I used the SEF 8x6 coil instead of the stock due to the amount of trash in hunt zone. First target was a wheatie next to a nail, the next hit was a nasty disc that I thought was a knockout from a metal electrical box, but, as I started wiping it off, I saw what I thought was some stars around the edges. Sure enough baby, a beat to hell V nickle. It sure made my day. I was going to sell the E-trac, but, I'm thinking I need to put a bit more time into it. I have hunted the same spot with 3 or 4 different machines, including the XP Deus, but missed it with all of them.

I saw where you had your E-Trac up for sale and was thinking CTX. Give the E-Trac a chance to prove itself and you will be very happy. It is IMO, right in tune with the CTX or any other detector when it comes to finding silver and coins !!! I for one will stick and stay with the Big E until Minelab comes out with a truely new and greatly improved E-Trac. Keep at it !!

Congratulations on the V and wheat! Thanks for the story and the picture.
