Was out at an older house in town, and was getting really frustrated with the lack of finds. I was getting ready to call it, when I get a bouncy signal near the sidewalk in front of the house. So I dig down to the pinpoint depth of 6" and stick my pro-pointer in the hole with nothing ringing in, so I check my plug and about 3" into the I finally get a signal. So I start to lightly brush off the dirt. I expose the reverse side and think, nice finally a Barber. Flipped the coin over to see this pretty lady sitting on the face of the coin. I take it home and give her a nice warm water rinse to reveal her age. What a nice surprise this was. I see an s mint, but when I put it under the microscope it appears smudged. What do you guys think? Very happy to find my second oldest coin ever. They are few and far between here in NorCal by the Oregon border.

Congrats! That is one beautiful coin!

I know what you mean about few and far between! I'm north of you (Washington) and I really envy the folks back east and down south!

I'm thinking you had a really good find there. I've never found any silver older than 1940's. Artie
