Sharing our hobby

Sometimes it isnt what we find in the ground that makes this hobby
so Great . I picked up my hunting partner today and we headed off to
his childhood home that is now a vacant lot . We were not expecting
much , just wanted to be out and enjoy the day . School is out for Spring
break here and a little girl that lives in the house next door found us of
interest . I was amazed at the 13 year olds interest in what we were doing
and let her use my extra detector . She found a hot rock and some pull tabs
and was as happy as could be , especially after I told her she just might have
a meteorite , Well, could be . She brought along her 2 ferrets , so funny,
the small female rode on my coil while the male crawled up in the pocket of my
sweatshirt and fell asleep . Even with my furry rider I managed to find some clad ,
a toy hammer and silverware . Where is the camera when I need it . This hobby
never ceases to Amaze me , the amount of FUN I have had over the years is
priceless . And today just reaffirms that for me . Get out and enjoy everybody :twodetecting:

This hobby sometimes lets us expose ourselves to many inexpected pleasures, be it meeting new people, or just enjoying nature, or countless other things like ferrets.

Great post Terri! Like Bryce, I'm not sure where I would be without this hobby. I retired two plus years ago and promptly began detecting 6-7 mornings a week for 3-4 hours. As a result, I've meet some great people through these forums, am very content, heathier then I have been in years and every so often, make a neat find. It is a great hobby for a good many reasons. Great post Terri! Thanks for the "insight'. Sometimes I loose that in search of that elusive coin/ring/nauble, Beale.

Sounds like fun. I didn't think a 13 year old could even see us adults at all:confused: Must be selective seeing. Love those ferrets too. Weaselly kind of critters. Happy hunting kid.
