Welcome to the forum

G'day Shane.
Welcome to the forum. I hope your area isn't too infested with oil!
Good luck with your hunts. Given that there's only one detecting shop in all of New Zealand (on the south Island) you may not have too much competition on you hunts. I have come across a few Kiwis on a couple of forums though, so it's not going to go all your way though.
Happy hunting.

Welcome to this forum, Shane. Looking into Greenstone lead to a good wikipedia read on "Pounamu taonga". Your Greenstone is a wonderful recovered treasure!! Good digging, that.
Look forward to reading more about your finds around the Bay of Islands. What a beaut part of the world you have to explore!!! Happy Hunting.

Hi there Forrest M nice to hear from you. Yes i do consider the greenstone find one of my best finds. If it didnt have the japanese yen coin attached then it would have been burried forever so to speak.
It is a great part of the world hear and quite a few hours from the big cities. I sometimes feel like i have the whole of the far north to fossick to myself.

Shane
