shallow water hunting

I tried water hunting for the first time this weekend. actually found two 10k rings. The water was shallow and had a bit of current so I didn't have to submerge it. Didn't use earphones. Now will the connector port for the earphones leak if something isn't plugged into it.

YES. Put the provided plug in and use headphones designed for the 3030 when water hunting. Watch the videos and read the manual. The machine is no smarter than the user. I have water hunted for years with very few problems but when I first started I tried to get all the information I could before I actually went into the water. Most problems are preventable. As much as these machines cost the operator should be aware of what can happen if used in away they are not designed to be used. A person can get lucky but a person should not press their luck.
