Shaft pulling out of control box while swinging

New member
Has anyone experienced the E-Trac upper shaft pulling out of the control box while detecting? This happens frequently, and I am wondering if there is something simple to check that is maybe not locking the upper shaft in correctly. Appreciate any input. Thanks.

Hi All well your not going to believe this I just bought A 8x6 SEF coil and took my stock coil off and put the SEF 8x6 coil on putt the shafts back in and had the same problem every time I swung my Detector shaft came out of the control box well long story short I had my upper shaft in backwards turned it back around and no problem  that's what your problem could be check it out let us know if that fixes it good luck HH

I've had this happen, what fixed it for me was some TLC on the red friction tab. If I had to guess, yours is probably mostly black and slicked up. Take some rubbing alcohol and a q-tip and apply generously. Keep doing it until all you see is red, get all the black slicked up dirt off of it. The alcohol also makes the rubber more tacky.
