Shadow X5 water conversion.

[attachment 62190 IMG_2277.jpg][attachment 62191 IMG_2276.jpg][attachment 62192 IMG_2278.jpg][attachment 62193 CopyofIMG_2273.jpg][attachment 62194 IMG_2279.jpg][attachment 62195 IMG_2272.jpg]Since the X5 is such a great detector especially on small gold items, I have decided to convert one into a water machine. I used a Pelican case and water tight fittings. It works great to say the least.

Ditto - where do you obtain the H2O proof fittings and accoutrements?

Dave,
You can buy a regular round shaft pot then add a rotary shaft seal to it. This is the cheapest way to seal the pots. The wire connectors are from Heyco.com
Here is a link to a shaft seal

I think this is what you wanted?
I've just about got the easy waterproof detector together. I'll post the pictures.
Mel Parker sure did a nice job!
My approach is a little different.

THanks Kenny. Ill be looking forward to seeing your results.

I waterproofed mine the same year it came out and have been using it for lake hunting ever since. It can find the tiny gold and it can find the big gold :)

Good Luck with it!!!!
