WTB a truly deep seeking detector , for coins and relics hunting . Which one of them will be better choise. Will be great to hear apinion of peaople who have had them both , or just the thoughts of experienced treasurehunters. Thanks.

I havent used both, so I cant compare. Can only give you my impressions on the Tejon if you want it.

J.

All depends on ground conditions. Here in Ga, many use the Tejon,Minelabs, Fishers and X-5's.

My X-5 handle's the ground much better and I think the depth is much better than the Tejon I owned. And I got the X-5 at a good price.

The only other detector I owned that handled the ground extremly well and got great depth here was an older Minelab Sov. with a Seasearch coil. Just too dang heavy and slow going. It had to go.

The X-5 matches my hunting style, I'm happy with it.

Monte could answer this question as to which is better with authority.

The X5 isn't.

...now only have 2 X5's.
In my opinion the Tejon is over hyped for my style of hunting.
I have dug coins to a measured 14" with the X5 and hunted many places around the World with them.
I primarily hunt for Celtic gold coins that are less than 10mm across, or Medieval hammerred silver that are as thin as foil, the Tejon just didn't do it for me.

Thanks to all repliers . The tesoro warranty is unbeatable , I have tesoro tigershark ( really great underwater detector ) has noticed that it's pretty hot on small items , but not good for large iron items , I'm also hunting in WW II battlefields , so good sensitivity to items like steel german helmets - is very important for me , will tejon detect such helmet at 1 meter deep ? Will do the same X5 ? I have explorer II with 14.5 detech coil it's sensitivity impressive , but it weights too much , that's why I'm looking for another detector , and ID I don't need it so much.

You need to ask the folks over there. I didn't realize you were in Europe.

Please be carefull with the unexploded ordinance.
