Silver in color small band says IOWA NPIP I found two of them (duck or goose leg band?) Other tag might say ROD and some numbers. One looks like part of an old phone. Not sure on these if you can offer any insight that would be great.
Thanks!
Dave

The Iowa NPIP is a bird band. The national poultry improvement plan. Not sure on age but kind of cool

I have found 3 of these Poultry Leg Bands last year while detecting, in 3 different locations miles apart. Two of mine have dates on them, 1950 and '48. They were used on chickens to keep track of shots given, treatments and sicknesses.

I've seen someone post one from the '30s. People still use them, Heres a site selling them....http://www.ketchummfg.com/Poultry-Leg-Bands-Wing-Bands-c36.html

Any ideas on what the first picture is of?
