Seven Silver And A Large Cent Hunt!

It was a gorgeous weekend here and I got to hunt today with my buddy Micah. We drove around for about an hour looking for a place to hunt and was turned downed at the first two places, but we found an old house with a huge yard and the owner's were out enjoying the day as well. After talking to the nice couple about our hobby and the history of the place, we learned that an old store used to sit next to the house. We got permission to hunt and started in the side yard close to where the old store once stood. My second signal into the hunt was a nice Merc. The closer I got to the store site the silver popped out one after another. I stayed in a corner of the yard that was 25' x 25' and dug 4 more Mercs 2 rosies and 8 Wheaties. Things started to slow down and I got a good one way signal at 12-44, I was expecting a clad dime on edge but dug out a bigger coin thinking maybe it was a token. I was so surprised to see the worn Large Cent and couldn't believe it. The hunt had come to an end and was told we could come back at anytime. This was one awesome hunt! HH David

Wow!!! What a day! Awesome finds for sure. Great rust stain on that rosie. Thanks for the pictures.

By today's standards that is a fantastic day of hunting! Congrats!
 
Now that is impressive and totally suprised that the large cent rang up at 12:44. I would have really been shocked as well. And yes....how did Micah do??

Congrats on a 7 silver day. Incredible!! Really nice of those people to let you hunt .... I am so appreciative of nice folks like that. Very sweet, kind and generous.
 
Thanks everyone. Micah found some wheaties and some neat relics but the silver eluded him on this hunt. This was the craziest yard to hold so many coins in one small section. I think I dug 4 silver in a row. This must have been a spot where folks would sit and eat a sandwich or ice cream and drink their sodas bought from the old store. I hope there is a few more silver left for both of us on a return trip as we didn't cover but a third of the big yard and there is an old school next door that we didn't get to as well.
