Some found with pulses also over about 12 years. Excal has a graphite base rod to the hipmount set up and MGM (Mr. Goldmaster) phones.

Gotta be upwards of 50. Not everything in there is scrap either--that's for sure.

It is amazing how much is lost year after year. This pile while it is a lot, is probably only a small percentage of what is lost, or recovered in year.

WOW! I am very impressed.

clive your book was a light in a dark place, thanks you .

That is impressive,Clive!

Did you see this on Ebay? I hope this guy isn't copying any of your printed material in your books. Or 'Finding Rings With A Minelab Metal Detector' by Mike Keener and Otto Fieler.

assuming it is 10K, at $1500 per oz

7x16(oz) = 112 (oz)
112 (oz) x $1500= $168,000 x .417 = $70,056

70,000 over 12 years is an impressive $6K per year. Not enough to support a family, but still impressive!

14&18K bring that total up significantly.

Thanks for the breakdown, Neil. I knew it was lot! Actually have sold most of my 19 and some 14, there's also quite a bit of PLAT in ther too and the odd stone. All those hunts, good and bad, add up over time.

Value aside, awesome job CJC!!! I have been honing in on my skills with the Excal but am currently 99% behind you, even though I've bought every Excal book and read every excal post I could find. Wishing you good luck seems almost silly as talent/skill is clearly what you have/need but I wish your next 7 lbs. to come much sooner than the next 12 years. -Marc

A friend of mine has about $18,000 worth of scrap gold that he's found over the last 6 or 7 years or so. And that's hunting on the great lakes where you've got only about 3 months of water hunting to do. He uses an Excal. I've hardly ever water hunted but I did more last year with my GT and plan to this year as well.

Great finds! I personally want to thank you for your books. I have everyone of excaliber and pulse books as well as some others you have written on dfx & xlt & site reading. Those books have changed my metal detecting life. I've read and re-read them and they are in my mind the best books written on metal detecting. Would you ever consider writing one on the e-trac? My gold and silver finds have gone way up and I even found a nice platinum on land so far this year. Thanks and take care!

Impressive - and fun to look at! Something about the color of gold.

Collected ring by ring, chain by chain - represents a lot of time, effort, patience, and determination.

thanks.
