ok i have been running sens at 7 thresh at -40 disk at 99 with foil and tab notched out.Today i tried running nothing notched out and disk at 40-50 and was suprised at how many times i would get a low tone and a high tone right next to the low tone but when i disked out all the iron no tone at all.I know some have said that running a lower disk will help with falsing on iron but has anyone had luck with it finding coins next to iron that way?

thanks sandrailer

I'm not sure I'm fully getting what you meant but it sounds like masking. Or with disc all the way to 99, that promotes masking with so many targets around the coil at once.....
Your settings are fine, but maybe experiment with a lower disc to reduce falsing. Also in MEGA-heavy trash like that sometimes you have to suck it up and just look at the screen & dig positive, "iffy" numbers...

Sorry for not making my post clear.Yes i was referring to the disc at 99 and not seeing the good targets next to the iron but when you turn disk down to 40 or 50 then you not only see the iron but you also see the good target too.Makes me wonder how many good targets next to iron i walked over and never knew they were there.

I think I said a long time ago...."99 is fine" when I first got it :)
I should have said...."99 is fine...in a non-trashy area" :)
You may wanna check out getting one of the 5" coils for the C$ for iron....I have had good luck with the Sunray one.

Bill
