Hi there
im very new to detecting and would like some help on the best settings for beach detecting using the explorer xs.
Ive used the factory settings up till now but would like to advance onwards.

thanks nick.

I do know manual sensativity is best on salt water beaches.

First thing is to open up the screen a lot and get out of the habit of using the pre set program's , they are crap putting it mildly .
Here is a picture of what I would be using on my Explorer 11 .

The next thing is to do the settings, But first put the machine into Advanced mode . With my machine with me check the manual to do that.
Next set the Sensitivity to between 22 and 28 on Auto or on a quiet sandy beach as high as you like in Manual .
Volume should be 10 , Gain 9 , Threshold tone 1 , Variability 8 , Limits 10 , Sounds CONDUCT , Noise set to 2 or do it auto and see but I always use a low manual setting , Response NORMAL , Recovery DEEP ON fast off.

That should give you a similar capability to what I use and is very similar to what my E.Trac is set at.

All you need to do now is set the Stallion loose :D

I do not change my settings for beach hunting. LOL If I have to do anything, I noise cancel then I am off to the races. Never had an issue
