settings for amusement park

What setting does one suggest, for an iron infested amusement park? There are iron bolts, nails, etc. I am using a 8inch coil. Any sugesstions would be helpful. I found coins there, but its difficult to wade through the junk.

like your sensitivity way down to 3 or 4 & your threshold way down to say -40, disc up to 99 of course. Try that. You sacrifice a tad bit of depth, but you should be able to slice though the iron alot better. Is it a "defunk park" Let us know how you do....HH, Bill

Thanks Bill,
I will try these settings the next I go to the park. It is a defunk park.I'll let you know how it works.

Yes, 525 is still my favorite setting...a great all around setting for most any situation. But, he said he was having a real hard time wading through alotta iron junk. I use 525 more, but in an area that's REALLY bad with alotta numbers popping up on the screen, I like to drop the threshold again. To me it seems to help, and the more you drop thresh into the negative numbers, the more quiet/stable the C$ seems & I can hear the good stuff pop up.....
Both settings will work fine....but I guess my personal basic rule of thumb is: more trash=more neg. threshold. But, that's what's nice about the C$. It's loaded with options, & heck would do well in heavy trash with 150 even

And I for one appreciate you input. Old th'er new Striker.

we've seen alotta new "$trikers come & go.....
some people just can't seem to get the hang of getting accustomed to this 'different animal". I was un-sure if I was gonna like this thing when I first gut it. Now I feel lost without it Good luck, Bill

I had got that opinion from reading the posts before I bought it. And was sure I could depend on you folks if I got hung up. I have no intention of giving up as I have waited too long for something like this to come down the Pike.

Evening Gent's,

Just came across your thread and wanted to ask a few questions if you don't mind ?

I am a new to Detecting and just bought a Coin$strike as my first Detector,

I was wondering if you could explain what the 525 settings are ?

And what you mean about defunk park ?

I want to learn how to master this Detector as every ware I turn I hear what a Tool to have in your corner.

Thanks Clinton :ukflag:

defunct as in closed down. A lot of towns had amusement parks of some shape or size back when people weren't as mobile as they are today. Most closed down long ago. Only a few survived and expanded. The three digit settings always mentioned for the C$...... the first digit represents the sensitivity level and the second two digits represent the threshold level with the minus sign omitted. In other words a 525 means a sensitivity of 5 and a threshold of minus 25. Positive threshold settings will be, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04. The only slight variation of this "system" would be with a max sensitivity setting (10) which would bring up a 4 digit designation such as 1025 (sens. of 10 and a -25 thresh) If your C$ can actually run with any degree of stability at 1001 or higher in the field, it's either built by The Gods or it's broke. :)

:beers: Thanks for info & taking the time to explain for me Buckeye ( I looked up defunct in the dictionary and spelled it wrong no wonder I couldn't find it  )
