Settings for Ace 250

If you are new to detecting, run it in Coins mode at 50% Sens. and hunt that way for at least 100 hrs, per Garrett. This will maximize your good finds to trash finds and get you familiar with your new best friend. It just takes a lot of practice, your're probably not gonna "Get the Good Stuff the very first day". And as with several other things in life, location, location, location!! You can't find what ain't there!! Patience, Grasshopper!!

Greetings, I have had mine about (Ace 250) a month now and was using a Bounty Hunter brand first. Let me tell you there is a WORLD of difference. Just setup for coins as BigCatDaddy said and swing away. Your ears and trial and error will be the best teacher. Not too far from now you will be getting all the good stuff I'm sure. You didn't go wrong with Garrett 250 as many will atest too. Just enjoy.....

I've had my 250 "yeller feller" since may and agree. Coin mode, less trash. You have to dig trash to get the sound of it. My brother just got one a few weeks ago. After picking my brain (like I'm the expert) with about 20 emails he is starting to get "the sound" of it.
