setting up your screens/scoops for the small stuff

I wanted to see how you all are setting up your scoops or screens for the smaller things the AT pro and gold are finding in the water hunts. I have hunted in the water with other water machines but I think I may have to make some adjustments for water hunting with the Garretts.

I have a 3/8" circular screen at the bottom. Seems to capture most of the items, but 22-caliber shells are a problem.

I use a heavy plastic mesh called Rock Guard" to line my float and put a piece in side my scoop too. Works great

I just put a piece of screen door screen on the inside bottom half of my scoops about 1" up the sides. gets all the studs earrings and thin gold chains that sometimes float away when they fall threw. Also a piece of wire mesh 1" wide 4-5" long mounted in my scoop with some of the little prongs sticking up and pointed forward this will snag small thin chains that will fall threw when water hunting and float away

.22 cal shells and split shots drive a guy crazy!..I gave up worrying about it...after a while you can tell if you are chasing a 'shot that keeps falling through the scoop, tiny little target etc......big gold dont fall through, so thats good..

I found a little half heart 14kt several years ago. I scooped it up, I seen it and it went thru my old scoop. I chased that thing for about 40 minutes, but finally seen it in the dirt on my scoop and grabbed it. All in about chest deep water. I almost lost it in deeper water. Since that time I have changed my scoop 2 times. This year I hope to be ready in advance.
