Setting GB slightly positive??

To set the Ground Balance slightly positive with the XT-70, do you add a couple numbers to your GB'd machine or subtract a few? It seems to me that you would subtract a few as the scale is the inverse of a lot of the other machines around. Is this correct?

If the scale you are referring to is the number the detector comes up with when Auto GB'ing then, It is not inverse to anything. Its a phase reading of the soil which does not coincide with what you can rely on with others machines such as the MXT or the new Fishers. For instance, a GB number of 11 can equal a low iron mineral concentration but where the ground is highly conductive and vice versa.

Many of us have found that increasing the number works fine as well in certain conditions and Andy Sabisch one of the prototype field testers noted that as well.

meaning, taking it down from say 30 to 28.
