You guys that don't know him are really in for a treat if you do meet up with him. He's a real smart guy. If he finds something he doesn't recognize he'll research it and come up with what it was and then throw in a history lesson to boot on how it was used. I've been hunting in Forest Park only to have Mike mention the place I am hunting had some sewer project in May of 1937 and probably doesn't have a lot of what I'm looking for. He is also a top notch mechanic that knows what's wrong with any car I own if I just get him on the phone and describe the problem. He goes from space age to digging for a coin in a heartbeat.

Yeah, that does make me want to hit those spots harder and keep on keeping on.
When I hear these stories from older detectorists, who often don't have the mobility they once had or can't even detect anymore, it does give me some new appreciation for what I have.
