Set a Gold program ?

Can a program be set to just pick up BB size Gold to 1 oz Gold nuggets , All Gold would be from the same area ? Thanks

I would imagine so but all we have are coal nuggets but honestly if I lived in gold nugget country would look into the lineup of gold nugget units as they are made for that purpose and can certainly understand this facet of the hobby is hard work and a gold nugget unit would pick up the small nuggets which most are and might be missed with conventional units...

I think you are talking RAW gold if so its like 20k. Get yourself a nugget.... you will find it takes a pretty good size nugget to set it off. The Exp just arent effective raw gold machines especially with the like of the Gold Bug on the market. Use the right machine for the job. Gold is set pretty close to the Exp GB so you arent getting very much depth. Ive got one of those gold test packets for testing detectors.... it wont pick it up but the MXT does at about 3 inches. Not to say you cant get a little exercise out there in the desert.... i did but my buddies found the nuggets that i had to use to test my SE. ANY detector will find gold...... but its how big a piece it takes to set it off. Most of the time you have to rake the area you intend to hunt to get the depth you need.

Thanks---The area is Ganes Creek Ak-- most of the gold is less than a ft. deep and can run up to 88 oz. I got some Gold nuggets from BB size to 1 oz size. so it should be easy to set ? Was looking for some set program for Gold. Thanks

Size may make a difference where they fall and like i said unlike jewelry which is mixed with all sorts or metals gold is about 20K normally. Air testing is your best bet to see how they are falling.... but from what ive tested id still run it in AM and like a beach dig it all except iron. There cant be that many targets. Tracking is normally the big issue in difficult ground that contains gold. I still say get you a cheap even older Gold Bug and do it up right. Otherwise you are going to be taking your detector for a walk. Let us know what your air testing gives you and if you have any success. A ft down.... thats asking a LOT for even the more capable MLs.

if place is clean --no iron, use explorer without discrimination manual sensitivity, Gain max 10 or 9,sounds long or smooth depends what explorer you have and response Constant, believe me its will work

There's a gold program in Andy Sabisch's book for the Explorer.

[size=large]if i knew there was gold in them creeks/ hills i'd for sure find me some way to get a fisher goldbug 2. i wouldn't fight the odds of trying to make an explorer into a nugget finder. ya get a couple of nuggets and the machine is paid for and you're not wasting time. listen to the voice of experience. dew is telling you it's not worth the effort. get the right tools for the job.
