Lets say for example I run a pewter Royal provincials button with iron shank missing, across the bottom of the coil. will it just find that particular button or will it just look for pewter buttons. I was just wondering if this machine is perfect to a flaw. Bottom line is I just want pewter buttons without the crap i.e.: shotgun casings, bullets. Thank you and I love ya guys!!! (in a nice way) : )

It would just find that particular button with no trash around it if you are trying to build a pattern. This is why we like to run very little disc, and listen to all the targets if possible, and learn where the trash items for that area will read on tones and the visual ID.
With the pewter buttons you are talking on, if they all are the same size and compositon they will read the same. If some are bigger or smaller or at a angle or even trash item beside it it will read differnt on the screen and if it reads in the blacken area of the screen it will be rejected.

Ohhhhhh. Ok. That was what I meant by perfect to a fault. Hey? I guess if it were that easy I'd be doing pretty well. : )
