Rich, I have all those coils for my 1250 plus the 7x10 and the 10x14 DD. For large areas that aren't too trashed up, I find the big DD unbeatable. Covers a big 14" path with each sweep and you don't have to overlap much. In mineralized soil, you can also run your sensitivity higher than you can with a concentric coil. There are some minuses though. Pinpointing is trickier and like others have said, some bottlecaps will register in the quarter range, but with experience you can learn to tell the difference 90% of the time. If you get one, do a lot of controlled testing for ID and pinpointing. For me the biggest drawback is the weight. It is noticeably heavier than the 12.5" and I developed a bad case of tennis elbow from using it too long without building up slowly at first. Had to lay off using it for a while, but it is again my favorite field searcher, though I use a neoprene elbow brace with it. Your 12.5" is a good field coil, but if you are itching to spend a few bucks, the 10x14 will be a good addition. HB
