September '07 CW camp finds GTI 2500

Good month ....about 10 hours fun....

Eagle breast plate in center dug last weekend. I always move beer cans in good areas that see I lot of
detecting. This was about 14 inches deep in a spot that had a 70's budweiser can about a foot from it until I moved it.
I wonder how many walked around it. The slide must have broken loose from the bottom and the soldier
bent the wires over the front and tossed it. It is rough but counts as plate #3 with Garrett this year.

The iron piece in the upper right is a musket band. Also a broken brass butt plate, two eagle buttons - .69 cal minies and
.58 balls - I carved .58 and a williams cleaner round - site stuff is early war.

My favorite relic of all is the little "picket" bullet just below breast plate left side.

The landowner has let anybody that asked go for years and said that they usually leave with hardly anything and
never ask to come back again. He was quite amazed at my success with the big green ugly oversized
senior citizen beach toy( my words). His words " everybody always says not to buy a Garrett" with what you found I am not sure that they know what they are talking about ( he had an old Freedom in his shed). I did locate the majority of the targets in all metal and many I had to move an inch
or more soil to get signals on the "0" disc mode. I am amazed at the number of very deep targets that all metal ID's
on the meter correctly. My hats off to Charles G !

Awesome..ive never found that many civil war stuff in one outing! HH

Nice finds. No CW stuff here in Cali but I'm hoping for some spanish loot someday.

Love them civilwar relics. I've found a few but live to far away to hunt them that often. I live about 75 miles from Gettysburg and would love living closer to it.
Great finds!! Keep them coming!!!
