Went to a park in a small town, and had the best detecting day I've ever had. Today I found $3.69 in clad, blah. My first Indian Head ever and my second Indian Head ever (1887,1892). I found my first Mercury Dime ever and my second Mercury Dime ever (1940, 1942), and my first Seated Liberty Dime (1877cc) looks like it just came from the mint. Dug a plug about 8" down, pryed it up and there she sat staring me in the face. Those are my first silvers for the year also. The 1877 is also my oldest coin I've found. Didn't want to quit but started to get dark. I KNOW YOU WANT PICTURES!! Anyone can make up a story, right? LOL. I haven't learned how to post pictures on here, but I'm going to try to figure it out, since I finally have something worth showing. Look for them in the next couple days. I've got to say, that I'm finally learning my XLT after tinkering with it here and there for the last 8 or 9 years. SLOW IS THE KEY FOR THE OLD COINS!!!! I was actually thinking about getting a different detector, because I couldn't find any old coins. Kinda brings ya down. But the XLT Shined for me today, so I guess I'll hold on to her. Question? about when I decide to post the pictures. Can I come back to this post and add the pictures, or do I have to post a new message.

[size=large]real nice finds. i believe if you don't edit with-in the first 20 miin. ya have'ta repost.
i'm learning the same thing with my XLT. didn't really need to by a minelab or the MXT. just need to take the time and effort to learn the XLT.
i have to imagine you'll be re-visiting that place for a while.

Congrats on the old coins.
XLT came in for you,on that hunt.
If the coins are there it'll find them:thumbup:

Congratulations on all of your firsts Nathan. You will have to post your pictures separately, you are limited to 420 KB per picture, but even that is a pretty large picture. I send huge pictures to myself in the medium size and they are sized just right for posting when you get them.

Good finds on the old coins hang in there there is more out there.:twodetecting::whites::beers:
