How do you set the manual sensitivity? I can easily set the auto to plus or minus three but when I click on manual the machine just makes that loud sound and I can not set the numbers higher. When I press the right button the screen says volume gain. I have tried clearing all programs but the same thing happens. I have gone to the manual on page 21 but it does not give much help. I also have one of the two books that is suppose to help, but it does not help either. Perhaps the machine is not working properly but my first guess is my poor computer skills. Thanks for your help.
Press the button at 9 o'clock and hold for a couple seconds a screen will come up choose manual by pressing the 3 o'clock button scroll down to the bottom and press manual level then to lower sensitivity press the 9 o'clock button and to raise sensitivity press the 3 o'clock button . sube
Sube, I tried that and when I am on manual and I press the nine and three buttons I only get a beep each time I press either the three or the nine buttons. The screen still shows that I am in manual. I think the screen should at least show the manual numbers when pressing the three and nine but it does not show any movement when I try to increase or decrease the setting. What should the screen be showing me about the manual setting? Thanks for your help.
To get the #s to change you have to be in the third bin in the bottom that says manual level then you can increase are decrease the #s .If that does not work try a reset and if no go I guess off to minelab .
Also when you go down to the third bin that says manual level if you push the center button another screen will come on that says manual level with a line with the sence value then by pushing right or left button the line will go right or left.
I get that beep to if I don't select the bottom third bin manual level. sube
Sube's directions are actually spot on, but lets a add a little detail and try again.
In your center group is 5 buttons (these are your function buttons - see page 19 of the manual):
The middle button looks like a book (home/menu button)
The 12'oclock button looks like an electrical signal (noise cancel button)
The 3'oclock button looks like a speaker (Audio or volume button)
The 6'oclock button is the coil with up/down arrow (ground balance button)
The 9'oclock button is the face with a mohawk (this is your sensitivity button).
Press and hold the 9'oclock button (sensitivity) this will switch the detector to the sensitivity screen.
When the screen comes up it will have 3 lines:
Top: Sensitivity Type
Middle: Auto Level
Lower: Manual level
Make sure the "Sensitivity Type" is highlighted light blue. If it is not push the "Noise Cancel" (12'oclock) button once or twice until it is highlighted.
The Sensitivity Type will either be "Manual" or "Auto" if it says Auto then press the "Audio/Volume Button" (3'oclock) this will change auto to manual, to change back to Auto push the "Sensitivity Button" (9'oclock).
After it says "Manual" then push the "Ground Balance Button" (6'oclock) twice to highlight the Manual level.
Once the manual level is highlighted press the "Home/Menu Button" (center button) it should change the screen: it will display the words "manual level" at the top and an number in the middle (the number is your manual sensitivity setting).
Push the "Volume Button" (3'oclock) to increase sensitivity or the "Sensitivity Button" (9'oclock) to decrease the sensitivity.
When you have selected the manual sensitivity level you would like then press the Home/Menu Button (center button).

Thank you Sube, jctorok, and minelabbob for trying to help with my sensitivity setting. You gave some detailed instructions. I tried all the suggestions but I was not able to change the manual setting. I guess it is time to send it in for a check.
