Sensitivity setting?

Is there a best way to determine the best correct sens. setting for a given location? Do I need to hear a threshold when swinging the loop? Thanks Ken

A slight threshold, helps to determine the trash in an area as it nulls when going over rejected items and will also tell you if trash is near a good target and help you to determine to dig or not. Too loud a threshold and it will mask out small targets where you can't hear them, set correctly what I call the buzzing of a bee will allow you to hear the small deep targets. Of course some prefer silent search and that is possible by turning down the threshold. A stable unit is a good indication of proper sensitivity
settings and high is not always good, depending on the ground mineralization. This is applicable to all top line machines that do have the ability to run with a threshold.
