Sensitivity setting in all metal gt

After reading the previous post on this subject, I got a chance to try out the a/m mode on my gt at a very mineralized beach today. (My first real attempt at a/m). In disc I could run at about 4:30 and it was still relatively unstable. Found a few clad coins, sinkers etc. So then I switch to a/m and crank the sensitivity to just past auto. Do I understand correctly that I should run sensitivity to "max" while in a/m? If so, how cool is that? I am assuming that that much increase in sensitivity would greatly increase the depth . I found a few nails (kind of not used to that) but also some more clad and sinkers (which seemed to be deeper). I found it difficult to check a target out in disc when you also have to readjust the sens knob. Also I found the threshold to be somewhat annoying so in a/m do you silent search? So...is there a use for threshold in a/m? And do I get to crank up the sensitivity all the way, or does that need to be adjusted in a/m (like in disc)?
As always, many thanks for all the help. I am really looking forward to learning more about a/m hunting (especially at those black sand beaches)
Cheers,
Jim

Jimsy, I love the all metal mode , BUT you do not want to hunt with sensitivity to high this will blurr the signals auto works great but i go just a tad past 3:00 but no more as this will blurr the signal try both , but you will find things that no one els can with that sovreign pinpont is deeper yet if you want CJC ,s book on the GT i will give it to you you just pay the shipping if i was on that black sand beach i would hunt in all metal the GT is great at badd ground high tones are coins low can be ringsand tabs you will learn the sounds take a nial and practice and a coinand a ring and tab I bet you will be posting some rings soon . I like to hunt in discriminate in good ground but when it gets badd the GT is pure penitrating power, like nothing I have ever used , to poor to try the GPX 4800

On my Beach, I run the GT with only about 40% sensitivity with The S-12 coil....... I was digging targets to my Knee's, no BS there (you don't need high sensitivity settings with GT).......Now If you use a small coil you can go higher on The sensitivity, which make the GT hit harder on the low conductor (small jewelry) but lose some depth & ground coverage

I notice I can run a little higher Sensitivity on AM

when I first used the GT & S-12 I ran the Sensitivity High and thought the gt was broke.

I can run sens a good bit higher as well but cant increase my sweep speed if I want the really deep ones. Faster reset in all metal also, which helps.
I keep my threshold a nice somewhat steady buzz, its not as stable as in disc but you can hear how it interacts with the ground so just adjust it accordingly.
If I cross check a target in disc its just to see if the detector nulls but also to see if the detector even reports on the target in disc(one way to tell a real deep target). You really need to hunt this way awhile and see how it works(searching in all metal pinpoint). Myself I need to spend more time in the the all metal ground tracking/fix mode on the GT, learn more about it. you loose the sizing feature though in that mode.
just like in disc, different coils will require different settings.
