Sensitivity Question

Having read a number of postings regarding sensitivity & threshhold, is there any one out there, who can give a reasonable explanation as to why you may lose targets due to having to much sensitivity which affects the threshold stability. I tried auto sense 32 on a site here in the uk, but to get the same stable threshold tone in man sens I had to reduce it to 12. Now here's the question. Surely, I am going to lose deeper targets by running such a low sensitivity? On this site I could run man sens at 32 with no falsing. Can any one shed some light on this bewildered user?? Many thanks
Nick (UK)

The main thing with running too high a sensitivity is in iron or highly mineralized ground.. in iron I find lowering the sens in manual gives best results.. in really high mineralized ground running auto may work the best. Basicaly by trying to over power the explorer in these situatiions make the explorer just see the iron or mineralization and it just cant react fast enough to the good targets in it.. running lower sens may lessen depth but also lets the explorer see less deep iron as well and pick off the good stuff in the fairly shallower areas of that iron easier.. basic rule if your hunting an area that nulling more than not, try lowering the sens a bit and just hunting slower, then go over the same area in auto.. if your getting better results in one setting than the other, than use that setting for that area..most of my high nulling areas I go over a few times in various sens settings, and usually get something in one I missed in another
