Sensitivity Nob Spun Xcal?????

Buried Crap NJ

New member
Hey Guys and Girls I thought I read here some place that you can turn the nobs too far on these and break them?? I did a search and couldn't find anything. I turn mind off to chat with another hunter tonight and then couldn't get it to re-tune. The switch does spin from on to off without going back. There is no change in sound other than loud threshold to nothing and than chipping throaty sound then off again. I changed the battery and still the same. The unit is 9 months old. If you know something before I send it back please let me know.

Steve,

If it's just the knob slipping on the shaft you can pop the top off of of the knob and you will see a small nut, it is possible to tighten it some. I've done away with them on mine and put on some aftermarket ones that I picked up from Radio Shack.
I believe that Minelab puts a small amount of glue on the knob to help hold it in place that's why in my previous posts I had to pry them up gently.

These previous posts should help.

The nob isn't spinning on the shaft it goes completely around off on to off without going back. You can go either direction to turn the unit on.steve

Sounds like the internal stop has broken off to me, still under warenty so it will have to go in, i would continue to use it till nearly the end of the warenty and season so you don't miss much while its away, with luck you will recover postage from your finds, you could phone them and let them know of the problem now, well within the warenty
