Sens maxxed out?

I've seen posts of guys running the XS with sens at 32..maxxed out. A lot of the sites I hunt are a tad trashy with nails etc. Aside from picking those up at great depth, is there any reason NOT to run the XS at 32 semi? I typically run mid 20's and semi. I dug a 1/2 real this past weekend from about 8" with 22 semi as the setting.
In my test garden, which is not trashy, my XS will pick up 6" deep coins at 14 sensitivity easily, except those coins standing upright in the hole, which are easy to go right over without a whisper. Like I said though, no trash. I wonder if the high sens. will tend to mask out the good targets?
Should I crank it up to higher or highest or leave well enough alone?
Thanks to all.

"... is there any reason NOT to run the XS at 32 semi?"
I find that on some very deep coins which have a weak signal that the semi-auto setting seems to "tune out" good targets some times. Not sure that's the best wording as I haven't determined exactly why this is yet ... but what I mean is that if I go over it in manual sens I hear it and when I switch to semi it disappears (seems somewhat dependent on the sweep speed as well). That seems to be why many people often recommend manual sens even though the semi sens often works fine (and in some cases may even be better).
Who said detecting was easy? ;^).

There is no set "perfect setting" 32 manual would be great if you could keep it stable and not have to much junk. There is no doubt that in a perfect world this would get the most depth but you have to work with what you got. Back down to what ever is comfortable for you. All the power in the world is useless if you can't pick out the good targets.
In short leave well enough alone!
