to-day i hunted with my vaquero in a sand filled volley ball court in all metal mode.i found $11.80 aud,two rings.one silver and one small gold.when i started leave to go home ,i went to turn off the machine and i saw that i had been operating supposedly the whole time with a sensitivity setting of one.after ground balancing,i forgot to turn up the sensitivity .every target i hit came through nice and crisp.so i started thinking does the sensitivity on the vaquero only work in the silent discrimation mode.having said that i have noticed before the sensitivity doesn't seem to do much to the operation of the vaquero.when in silent search mode ,turning up the volume/threshold knob i have found that it improves target perception.not being a long time detectorist, and my shrink thinks that i find fault with every thing .with the earphones on i'm in my own little world where i have time to analyse what i'm doing.the ace 250 ,when you turned the sensitivty down ,it worked! i can think of those people who maybe standing in line to litterally rip out my jugular veins for saying bad things about the mighty vaquero. i still reckon it's the bees knees, but i wonder if anyone else has noticed these abnomalities? blowfly hh

yeah your right blowfly the sens only applys to disc mode so it wouldnt matter if its on 1 or in the red when you were hunting in threshold based AM , and those killerB's are great hey ! good finds welldone

i thought i was right about the sensitivity.yes the killer bees are great ! and finally sensitivity is spelt correctly.[i hope] blowfly.

No worries about spelling mistakes, here, Blowfly...

But I'm real curious about the 'bees knees' !!!!

Would you be good enough to translate that, for those of us separated by a common language?

yes i do hunt in all metal all of the time with the vaquero, after reading a post by tabdog,i thought if he can do it so can i. now mptr "it's just the bee's knees" i have always thought that saying originated in the bobby sock era in america but going by to-days sayings it could be"like cool man, bonza, bludy beaut mate, fair dinkum, wouldn't lead ya astray cobber,me old china plate".you all got my drift, you know where i'm coming from now.it's all o.k.you want me to run it past you again we understand it ,we eat vegimite sandwiches down under.blowfly hh
