Senator Token

tink

New member
I found this token in my yard when we first moved in. Its aluminum and has corroded pretty badly. I have tried cleaning it off with soap and water. I finally got it out today and used the good old dremel and soft wire brush. Took some time to get the caked on dirt off but i think it came out pretty good. It is an Elect Harry M Carpenter for Senate. Also has the date Aug 14th but the year is right where the corrosion hole is darn it. I think its from the Ohio election as that's what state I found it in and columbiana county.

I have done some research and the only Harry M Carpenter working for the Ohio and an employee of the state was 1926. The house was built in 1927 so it may be that late. Any help would be appreciated on this token.

Tink, you will find your answer here. It is a very slow link and may take you some time before you get to "harry m carpernter" (I quit after 20 minutes into "1920" election) , but apparently he is listed.

Thanks for the link Johnny. Your right, the link is very very slow. But good things come to those that wait huh? Can't wait to read what it say. I looked for the token but couldn't find it anywhere. Hopefully this will also answer some questions about who made them and where.
